To raise awareness of the danger of fake car parts, Arabian Automobiles Nissan carried out an interesting experiment challenging showgoers to the Dubai Motor Show to tell regular household items apart from genuine car parts.

Fake Car Parts UAE

Step one of the process saw the creation of a fictitious automotive supplier Kefa (an anagram of the word fake), and items such as kitchen sieves disguised as air filters, printer toners disguised as fuel injectors, and shower drains disguised as brake rotors.

To add to the overall experience, automotive fans were given the products straight out of the box and convinced with stories about recyclable and eco-friendly plastic being a key factor in the production of these world-first spare parts.

Needless to mention, while a few keen enthusiasts didn’t fall for the trap, several unsuspecting victims believed everything they were being told, proving that many unknowingly purchase counterfeit spare parts and risk their lives along with the lives of others on the roads of the UAE.
